[2023/12/14 15:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Peppers are nice, that pendant seems curious." Debben will head over to the spear, inspecting it and, provided nothing seems too untoward, will pick it up and compare it to her current one.
[2023/12/14 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: The spear is ornate, with a metal tip, there's runes carved into the shaft, and it's very well balanced. There's a few ribbons tied around behind the tip.

She growled, before walking around to show Katan she was just trying a scare tactic on the hob.

[2023/12/14 16:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's late, very late now, but there are still some hours to dawn. With the hobgoblin secured (tied to the cart), it's a good idea to get some rest. There's plenty to stand guard.

[2023/12/14 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's space on one of the waggons to sleep. Meanwhile Boddyknock fusses over his tubes and kegs, while Katana sits on the back of the cart, watching the hobgoblin and growls and mutters under his breath.

[2023/12/14 16:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: You both close your eyes. It's been quite some time since you were at the castle at the start of this series of adventures. You dream, recalling the bizarre baying sounds you heard as the magical energies washed over you... and you hear the baying now, of great dogs on the hunt. Perhaps it's your first big rest since gaining a level of experience, or maybe the recent events have sensitized your minds...
[2023/12/14 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: ..but you get a hazy image of huge vague dog-like shapes, bounding across great expanses... but bizarrely, not of distance, but time. How can that be? You see their paws loping over millions, no, billions of years, and then the great dark shapes just LEAP at you...

[2023/12/14 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: The caravan is quickly packing up. No one is anxious to stay too long in this spot, and the next village is close. Boddyknock seems particularly excited, as this is where he'll set up his devices for Mr Wu, and he'll get to show off his invention.

[2023/12/14 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: The caravan moves ahead, wih Boddyknock trailing a few hunded yards behind... you remember the kegs... there's quite a few of them...
[2023/12/14 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: Boddyknock: "Oh, it will, it will, I did all the calculations and measured it all carefully!"
[2023/12/14 16:40] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So how high up is heaven, anyway? Like, four miles?"
[2023/12/14 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Boddyknock: "A little higher. Don't worry, I'm not using mere firework gunpowder. I got special blasting powder..." (And he launches into a long technical description, and much time passes...)
[2023/12/14 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: Eventually, we arrive at the village. The main body of the caravan continues on, and Boddyknock pulls aside from the road. He gets villagers to assemble the tubes into a circle, canted at a steep angle with a sedan chair on top, and pours powders and lays out fuses.
[2023/12/14 16:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: While Boddy is up to that, Debben has a shopping trip to arrange!
[2023/12/14 16:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Even if this is a basic village, should be abe to get at least partial of her list
[2023/12/14 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Also: Katana takes the hobgoblin to the church, where the clergy mutter about evil creatures and crimes. The sentance is of course death, and Katana gives one last chance to repent and turn from Evil. This is rejected, and Katana slays the hobgoblin dead.

[2023/12/14 17:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: With the tubes set up and filled with powder and kegs emptied... the villagers crowd round late in the afternoon as Boddyknock gives a short speech about the application of sciences and exploration and ancestors and praising his patron, Mr Wu, who stands nearby in an ermine robe, with an ornate hate and the curly-toed boots that are in fashion. Mr Wu clambers up onto the sedan chair and Boddyknock lights the fuses... they hiss and splutter...

[2023/12/14 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: Some of the more dubious villagers glance at the empty kegs, and then at the tubes... the fuses hissing loudly... and they back away slowly. Boddyknock is too excited to notice, and Mr Wu looks up to the skies, searching for his ancestors

[2023/12/14 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: The fuses hiss and splutter...
[2023/12/14 17:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I somehow thought they were sending his coffin up there."

[2023/12/14 17:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: KA-BOOM!!! There is a -terrific- explosion of noise and smoke, and everyone is hurled to the ground. Mere moments later and razor sharp shards of smouldering bamboo scythe through the air. An ermine robe, an ornate hate and two curly-toed boots fall to the ground a mere moment later, as everyone lies dazed.

[2023/12/14 17:04] Alicia Frakture: Looks like they did send his coffin and him up there. getting him down is going to hurt whatever is left
[2023/12/14 17:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: For a moment there's silence, then screams and yells, and then Katana can be heard. "Fire! The thatched rooves are catching fire!"
[2023/12/14 17:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: Looks like he met his ancestors, certainly.
[2023/12/14 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Villages start running about, some fetching buckets... others seem less interested in the fire... "It's that bloody gnomes' fault, get him!"
[2023/12/14 17:06] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks around."We need Water!" She then looks at Debben."Indeed and they are laughing at him." before looking around."Worry about blame later! Save these roofs!"
[2023/12/14 17:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Boddyknock: "Uh oh... it's time I skipped town! Debben, you saved my life once, can you save it again? Take my cart, drive it out of town... while they think you're me, I'll make myself scarce - you can keep the horse and cart, by the way!"
